Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this different from other nature or wildlife tours in New Zealand?

Born from the shared vision of the Ruamāhanga Farm Foundation, Green Jersey Cycle Tours, Hau Ariki Marae, and the Aorangi Restoration Trust, this experience offers a meaningful way to connect and  contribute to the natural world. We weave conservation, culture, arts and science into an immersive journey.

You will go off the beaten track and step into little known pockets of wildlife, meeting the people who are actively restoring them. At Ruamāhanga Farm, you will get hands-on with the restoration work yourself. At the lake along with the sounds of the night you will hear stories and original songs born directly from this landscape through our Te Reo o te Wai project. Beside the awa and in the heart of the bush, there will be guided space to slow down, reflect, and explore your own creativity.

How much does the tour cost?

Our first pilot tour will be offered at a nominal cost of $100. We will ask you to participate in a product development focus group at the end of the tour.
